It May Be a Bit Difficult for You!
Fascinating as these changes may sound, most girls have a hard time dealing with them but it’s fine to feel awkward during puberty. Some of the troublesome features of puberty that you may experience include:
Nasty Mood
The crankiness, depression and mood swings are all because of the changes taking place inside and outside your body due to the hormonal fluctuations. You may feel all happy and light at one moment but angry and depressed in the next one! In such situation, talking to your friends is often quiet helpful since they may be going through the same. Get yourself busy with healthy sports or recreational activities and you will get over this temporary dark emotional phase.
Bad Smell
Girls may get embarrassed and uncomfortable by the foul odor that their body starts producing after puberty. This is because of the development of sweat glands and under arm hair growth which allow odor producing bacteria to grow. You can avoid this by frequently washing and changing clothes and using anti- perspirants and deodorants.
Ugly Spots (Pimples)
Another downside of growing up is the appearance of ugly, itchy spots or pimples on the face which are a result of high oily secretions. Some girls try to pick or squeeze them which is wrong as it may lead to infections or worsening of condition. All you need is to wash your face with good anti septic soap and eat healthy, fat free food and drink lots of water. In case of acne which is a common skin condition, consult a doctor.
The Way You Look…
At this time around as a girl is going through so many changes physically and psychologically, she may feel conscious of her looks and what others think of her. Worrying about height, weight, breast changes, skin and hair is normal but don’t stress yourself too much and do not compare yourself with your friends or other girls. Remember! Your body has its own pace of growing up.
